Chargepoint grants run until 31 March 2027 for renters, flat owners, households with on-street parking and residential landlords — we confirm what applies to you at quote stage.

Straight answers

EV charging questions, answered honestly.

How long does an EV charger installation take?

Usually half a day. That includes mounting the unit, running the circuit, protective devices, testing, certification and getting the app set up on your phone before we leave.

Tethered or untethered — which should I get?

Tethered (cable attached) is more convenient day to day. Untethered (socket only) looks tidier and works with any cable. If more than one car will use it, untethered usually wins.

Can my house supply handle a 7kW charger?

We check your supply and main fuse as part of the survey and notify NIE Networks where required. Modern chargers also load-balance, throttling briefly when the rest of the house is working hard.

Is there a grant for EV chargers?

Several pots, all running until 31 March 2027. At home, chargepoint grants cover renters, flat owners, households with on-street parking and residential landlords. For businesses, the Workplace Charging Scheme pays £500 per socket from April 2026, across up to 40 sockets. We confirm exactly what applies to you at quote stage — and claim it for you.

Never queue at a forecourt again.

Pick your charger, book the survey, and you're charging on your own driveway within the fortnight — usually sooner.
