The grid paperwork
Every solar system in Northern Ireland has to be registered with NIE Networks before or after connection, depending on size. It sounds bureaucratic because it is — so we do all of it for you.
Smaller systems, up to 3.68 kW of inverter output per phase, fall under G98: we install, energise and notify NIE Networks afterwards. No waiting for approval — most standard domestic systems fit here and connect the day they're finished.
Above the G98 limit — bigger hybrid inverters, larger batteries — a G99 application goes to NIE Networks before energisation. For typical domestic sizes there's a fast-track route that shortens the wait considerably. We prepare, submit and chase the application, and design your system so the paperwork route never becomes the bottleneck.
Connect Direct
G98 and G99 applications go in through ENA Connect Direct — the industry platform NIE Networks sits on — so your connection paperwork is filed properly and tracked, not posted and prayed for.
Hot water diverters
On a bright day your panels make more than the house is using. Export pays buttons; hot water costs real money. The myenergi eddi watches that surplus and sends it into your immersion heater instead of the grid — free hot water on every decent day, fitted by the same team that fits the panels.

Bird protection
The warm, sheltered gap under an array is prime nesting territory — and nesting birds mean mess on the panels, damaged cabling and noise at 5am. We fit discreet bird protection mesh around the edge of the array, clipped to the panel frames rather than drilled, so it keeps the wildlife out without wrecking the look of the install.
Straight answers
Most domestic installations take one to two days on site. Scaffolding usually goes up a day or two before, and we test, certify and hand over the monitoring app before we leave.
They generate less in winter, but they still generate — panels run on daylight, not heat. We design around the whole year: a battery and paid export make summer surplus cover winter shortfall.
Most slate, tile and metal roofs are fine, and east-west roofs often perform better than people expect. The survey confirms the fixing method and the structure before anything is ordered.
Very little — there are no moving parts. Rain does most of the cleaning in NI, and the monitoring app flags any drop in output so problems get caught early, not years later.
