Hinen — new to the UK · 2026

The A Series. All‑in‑one, 18 cm thin.

A 3.6–6 kW hybrid inverter and a 14.4 kWh battery in one slim white stack — no separate boxes, no wall of conduit. We're among the first installers in Northern Ireland fitting Hinen, and the spec-for-money is the reason.

Why we rate it

Serious engineering, sensible money.

Slim enough for real houses.

At 18 cm deep, the A Series sits flat against a garage or utility wall like a tall radiator — not a cabinet you walk around. Inverter and battery stack as one integrated unit, which Hinen say halves installation and commissioning time. Less time on site is money off your job.

  • 18 cm ultra-slim — the thinnest system we install.
  • Stackable integrated design — one tidy unit, not boxes and trunking.

Starts right. Grows huge.

Each B15 battery holds 14.4 kWh, and one inverter manages up to six of them — 86.4 kWh, more storage than almost any NI home will ever need. Need more power instead? Up to six inverters run in parallel for 36 kW. The system you buy today never becomes the system you outgrew.

  • 14.4 kWh modules — cluster up to six per inverter.
  • 200% PV oversizing — plenty of roof headroom across two MPPTs.
Capacity headroom kWh per inverter
14.4 28.8 43.2 57.6 72.0 86.4 max cluster

Winter-proof, fault-proof.

Backup loads transfer in ten milliseconds or less when the grid drops. A built-in bypass switch keeps the house running from the grid even if the system itself ever faults. And the battery self-heats, holding performance down to −20 °C — which covers any winter Northern Ireland can throw at it.

  • ≤10 ms backup transfer — the telly doesn't flicker.
  • Built-in bypass switch — belt and braces for system faults.
  • Self-heating to −20 °C — cold mornings don't dent it.

Safety done properly.

Five layers of battery protection, plus integrated aerosol fire suppression inside the unit itself — suppression hardware, not just software alarms. It also carries intelligent load management, shifting the house's big loads to when power is cheap or free.

  • Aerosol fire suppression — built into the cabinet.
  • Intelligent load management — heavy loads run on cheap power.

The Hinen app

Load management with a brain.

Hinen's smart energy management system watches the whole house and moves the big loads to where the power is cheapest — solar surplus first, off-peak second, full-rate only when it must. You see the battery, the panels and every managed load live on your phone, at home or away.

  • Intelligent load management — heavy loads run on surplus and off-peak power.
  • Live system view — solar, battery state and backup status at a glance.
  • Charging windows — set cheap-rate battery charging around your tariff.
  • Set up at handover — configured for your tariff before we leave.

The Glow verdict

Why we're first through the door.

"Hinen aren't a start-up having a go — twenty-odd years of battery manufacturing, stock-market listed, UK support desk in Birmingham. What's new is the brand, not the engineering. That's why we're happy to be among the first in NI fitting it: flagship-grade spec at a price that makes the payback maths genuinely quick."

Straight answers

Hinen questions, answered honestly.

Who are Hinen?

A storage manufacturer with more than 20 years of battery production behind it, listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, with UK support based in Birmingham. New to the UK market in 2026 — we're among the first NI installers fitting their kit, and the value is why.

Is the A Series big enough for an EV and a heat pump?

Yes, with room to spare. One inverter takes up to six 14.4 kWh battery clusters (86.4 kWh), and up to six inverters can run in parallel for 36 kW of output. Realistically, most NI homes start with one inverter and one battery and never fill half of that headroom.

What happens when the grid goes down?

Backup loads transfer in 10 milliseconds or less, and a built-in bypass switch keeps the house fed from the grid even in the unlikely event of a system fault. The battery self-heats too, so winter performance holds down to −20 °C. More on backup power.
