Electrical services — Belfast

Solar is the headline. This is the foundation.

Glow Electric started as — and still is — a NICEIC-approved electrical contractor. Certificates, consumer units, fault-finding and smart heating, done properly by the same team that puts systems on roofs.

Standards

Certified work, to the letter.

Every job — from a single socket to a full consumer unit change — is tested and certificated to BS 7671:2018+A2:2022, the current UK wiring regulations.

NICEIC assessed, annually

As an NICEIC Approved Contractor our work, test equipment and qualifications are assessed every year by the industry's main certification body. The certificate you get at the end of a job is backed by that scheme — insurers, solicitors and building control all recognise it.

The right certificate, every time

Electrical Installation Certificates for new circuits, Minor Works certificates for alterations, EICRs for inspections. If your paperwork ever goes missing we can reissue copies — they're logged, not lost.

Wired for what's next

Every electrical job we do considers where your home is heading — spare ways for an EV charger, capacity for a heat pump, a board that can take solar later. It costs nothing to plan ahead and plenty to ignore it.

Landlords & agents

Rental compliance, handled in bulk.

Electrical safety duties on private landlords in Northern Ireland keep tightening, and letting agents need certificates that arrive on time, not excuses. We run EICR programmes across portfolios — booked around tenants, reported the same week, remedials priced in the same report and fixed by the same team.

  • EICRs from £180 +VAT per property, portfolio rates available
  • Remedial works quoted inside the report — one contractor, no relay race
  • Digital certificates to you and your agent, filed and reissuable
  • Reminders before certificates lapse — compliance stays compliant

Straight answers

Electrical work, without the mystery.

Do you still do general electrical work now the focus is renewables?

Yes. Solar, batteries and EV charging are electrical installations — the trade behind them is the same one we've practised since 2005. Boards, circuits, fault-finding, certification: all still core work, done by the same NICEIC-assessed team.

What does an EICR cost in Belfast?

From £180 +VAT for a typical three-bed home. Larger properties and HMOs are priced on the number of circuits — we confirm the figure before booking, and it doesn't move on the day.

How quickly can you get to a fault?

Genuine loss of power or a burning smell gets same-day attention — ring 028 9691 8755. Nuisance tripping and intermittent faults are usually booked within the week.

Can you upgrade my board for solar or an EV charger?

Yes — that's most of what we do. Consumer unit replacements with surge protection and spare capacity for what's coming next, certificated and notified where required.
